Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Oligosaccharides are composed of usually 2-9 monosaccharide units, whereas polysaccharides are high molecular weight polymers consisting of many monosaccharide-repeating units (monomers). In general, oligosaccharides are crystalline substances, sweet in taste and readily soluble in water, whereas the polysaccharides are tasteless and colourless amorphous substances which are sparingly soluble in water.
