In oviparous animals, the young ones develop outside the body of the female. In viviparous animals, the young ones develop inside the body of the female. They are better protected. In case of oviparous animals, the eggs as well as young ones are less protected. They are exposed to predators and vagaries of environment. Thus, they are at greater risk than the young ones of viviparous animals.
