Mention one significant difference between dormancy and quiescence.

Dormancy is an inactive or sleepy state of a seed which requires a trigger for embryo to resume growth such as scarification or cold treatment. Quiescence is a state of suspended growth of the embryo. Quiescent embryo resumes growth at any time when exposed to favourable conditions.
