why are the aquatic species more comofortable in cold water in comparision to warm water?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For breathing, aquatic animals like fish need oxygen dissolved in water. Solubility of oxygen gas in water decreases with increase in temperature. Hence, less oxygen is available in warm water than in cold water. Therefore, aquatic animals feel more comfortable in cold water than in warm water.
