Name the functional group common to both glucose and fructose.

Glucose contains aldehydic group whereas furctose contains ketonic group.
Test for glucose and fructose : On treating glucose with bromine water, red colour of bromine water disappears whereas fructose does not decolourise the red colour of bromine water.
