The Human Genome Project (HGP) is an international research program that is to spell out the complete genetic inheritance of human beings and selected experimental animals. The HGP.s goal is to map the entire genome by determining the sequence of nucleotides in the DNA of each of the 22 + X and Y chromo some and make them accessible for further biological study.
