When acoustic resonance takes place, a loud sound is heard. Why does this happen ? Explain.

When acoustic resonance takes place, a loud sound is heard. This is because the natural frequency of the vibrating body becomes equal to the frequency of external applied force due to which amplitude becomes large and hence loud sound is heard.
