State the laws of refraction of light. State at least three examples of refraction of light.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Laws of refraction of light :
(1) The incident ray, refracted ray and normal at the point of incidence all lie in the same plane.
(2) The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is a constant for a given pair of media and is known as refractive index of medium 2 with respect to medium 1. It is generally represented by the Greek letter `""_(1)mu_(2)`.
`""_(1)mu_(2)=sini/sinr`
