Calculate the equivalent resistance betw...

Calculate the equivalent resistance between the points A and B for the following combination of resistors :

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In the given circuit, `4Omega,4Omegaand4Omega` in series gives `R_(1)=4+4+4=12Omega`
and `2Omega,2Omegaand2Omega` in series gives
`R_(2)=2+2+2=6Omega`
Now, `R_(1)=12Omega,R_(2)=6OmegaandR_(3)=4Omega` are in parallel.

The equivalent resistance R. is given by
`1/(R.)=1/12+1/4+1/6`
= `(1+3+2)/12=6/12`
`1/(R.)=1/2`

Total resistance = 5 + 2 + 6 = `13Omega`.
