Find the equivalent resistance between p...

Find the equivalent resistance between points A and B.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Three resistances `12Omega,6Omegaand4Omega` are connected in parallel.
`therefore` The equivalent resistance in parallel is given by
`1/R_(p)=1/12+1/6+1/4`
`1/R_(p)=(1+2+3)/12`
`R_(p)=12/((1+2+3))=2Omega`

Now, `2Omega,R_(p)and5Omega` are in series.
Thus, the equivalent resistance between A and B = `2Omega+2Omega+5Omega=9Omega`.
