Find the equivalent resistance between A...

Find the equivalent resistance between A and B.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`6Omegaand3Omega` resistances are connected in parallel.
`therefore1/R_(1)=1/6+1/3`
= `(1+2)/6=3/6=1/2`
or `R_(1)=2Omega`
`4Omegaand12Omega` resistances are connected in parallel.
`therefore1/R_(2)=1/4+1/12`
= `(3+1)/12=4/12=1/3`
or `R_(2)=3Omega`
Now, `R_(1)andR_(2)` are connected in series.
`therefore` Equivalent resistance between A and B = `(2+3)Omega=5Omega`.
