Explain why `Ga(+1)` undergoes disproportionation reaction.

Due to inert pair effect , `Ga` exhibits both +1 and +3 oxidation states. However, the +3 oxidation state is more stable than +1 state. Hence `Ga(+1) undergoes disproportionation reaction to form Ga metal and `Ga^(+3)` ion in aqueous solution.
`3 overset(+1) Ga xx(s)+2(s)+Ga^(+3)(aq)+3overset-xx(aq)` .
