Questions carrying 2 marks : Addition of NaOH solution to a solution of Zn Cl_2 produces a white precipitate which dissolves in excess of NaOH and forms soluble sodium zincate. Why?

An organic compound (A) with molecular formula C_(6)H_(7)N gives (B) with HNO_(2)//HCl at 273 K. The aqueous solution of (B) on heating gives compound (C) which gives violet colour with neutral FeCl3. Identify the compounds A, B and C and write the equations.

An organic compound 'A' (C_2H_6O) reacts with sodium to form a compound 'B' with the evolution of hydrogen gas and gives a yellow compound 'C' when treated with iodine and NaOH. When heated with conc. H_2SO_4 at 140^@C it gives a compound 'D' C_4H_(10) which on treatment with HI at 100^@C gives 'E'. 'B' when heated with 'E' also gives back 'D'. Identify 'A' to 'E' and write equations for the reaction involved.

An organic compound A (C_3H_5N) when heated with concentrated NaOH, NH_3 gas evolved with formation of a sodium salt of carborylic acid (B). On reduction A give C(C_3H_9N)C when treated with Nitrous acid gives D. Find A,B,C,D and writes the relevant reactiosn involved.

A compound (A) (C_7H_4N) on hydrolysis with strong aqueous acid gives another compound (B) on treatment with ammonia gives a salt which on heating gives (C). The compound (C) undergoes Hofmann's bromamide reaction to yield aniline. Identify A, B, C and write chemcial reactions involved.
