Draw the circuit diagram for the comparison of e.m.f's of two cells by a potentiometer.

Using a potentiometer, balance points are obtained at 60 cm and 10 cm with two cells connected in series first to support one another and then in opposition respectively. Find the ratio of the emfs of the cells.

A potentiometer wire AB has a length 0.5, and resistacne 0.5Omega . AS shown in the diagram, it is connected with a cell of e.m.f 3V and a combination of resistance R=S=5Omega . Fin the potential dropt per unti length of the wire.

A battery of e.m.f 2V and internal resistance 1Omega is used to send a current through a potentiometer wire of length 200cm and resistance 4Omega . What length of the wire will be required to balance a cell of e.m.f 1.08V?

One half-cell in a voltaic cell is constructed from a silver wire dipped in silver nitrate solution of unknonw concentration. It other half cell consists of a zinc electrode dipping in 1.0M solution of Zn(NO_3)_2 . A voltage of 1.48V is measure for this cell. Use this information to calculate the concentration of silver nitrate solution used (E_(Zn^(2+)//Zn)^0=-0.76V,E_(Ag^+//Ag)^0=+0.80V)

Find the force between two straight parallel wires, each of length one metre and cach carrying a current of 100 amperes when separated by a distance of one metre (given mu_0 = 4pi x 10^-7 N/m) .
