After few hours the lime water in beaker .B. turns milky while the water in beaker .A. remains the same. This is because the carbon dioxide gas is given out by the mouse during respiration which when passes through the lime water, turns it milky while soda lime absorbs any carbon dioxide present in the incoming air, and the lime water through which it passes will not turn milky. This shows that carbon dioxide is liberated during respiration.
