How is aquatic life benefitted by the fact that water has maximum density at 4°C ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Water due to its maximum density has an anomalous expansion which has helped marine life to exist in the colder region. When the water freezes at the top, the layer below it will be liquid as density of water is greater than the density of ice.
