A raindrop of mass 1.00 g is falling from a height of 1.00 km. It hits the ground with a speed of `50.0 ms^(-1) `Find the work done
by the unknown resistive force `(g = 10 ms^(2)).`

Text Solution

From work-energy theorem we have
`Delta K = W _(g) + W _(r)`
where `W _(r)` is the work done on the raindrop by the resistive force
`therefore W _(r) = Delta K = W_(g)`
`= 1.25 J - 10.0 J =- 8.75 J`
