A man pulls a box on a horizontal floor ...

A man pulls a box on a horizontal floor through a distance of 20 m with a force of 30 N applied along a rope tied to the box and making and angle of 60° with the horizontal. Calculate the work done.

Text Solution

The work done is
`W = vecF vecs = F s cos theta `
Here `F = 30 N, s = 20 m and theta = 6 ^(@)`
`therefoer W = 30 xx 20 xx cos 60^(@)`
`W = 600 xx (1)/(2)`

`W = 300 J`
