The average kinetic (thermal) energy of a gas molecule at absolute tempeature T is given by:
`E = 3/2 k _(B) T` joule
where `k _(B)` is Boltzmann.s constant.
(i) At `T = 27^(@)C + 273 = 300 K,` we have
`E = (3)/(2) xx (1. 38 xx 10 ^(23)) xx 300 K`
`= 6.21 xx 10 ^(-21)J`
(ii) At `T = 600 K,` we have
`E = (3)/(2) xx (1.38 xx 10 ^(-23)) xx 6000 K`
`= 1.24 xx 10 ^(-19) J`
(iii) `At T = 10 ^(7) k, ` we have
`E = 3/2 xx (1. 38 xx 10 ^(-23)) xx 10 &(7) K`
`= 2. 07 xx 10 ^(-16) J`
