Carbon monoxide is dangerous when inhaled.

Haemoglobin has a very strong affinity for Carbon monoxide and a stable compound called Carboxy-haemoglobin (HbCO) is formed when carbon monoxide is inhaled. It cuts down the capacity of blood to transport oxygen which may lead to death. Hence it is very dangerous to inhale carbon monoxide.
