Hormones are chemical secretions from specific glands which are poured directly into blood stream and produce effect in one or more target organs only. Tropic hormones stimulate other glands for the production of some other hormones. For example- TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone] stimulates thyroid gland to secrete thyroxine
