` underset("Sodium chloride")(NaCl) + underset("Sulphuric acid(conc.)")(H_(2)SO_(4)) overset(200^(@C))to underset("Sodium hydrogen sulphate")(NaHSO_(4))+ underset("Hydrogen chloride")(HCluarr)`
When metal chlorides react with conc. `H_(2)SO_(4)` , hydrogen chloride gas is liberated. The temperature is kept less than `200^(@)C`, because if temperature increases then sodium sulphate is formed.
