Describe different types of neurons on the basis of their functions.

Explanation

There are three types of meristems:
(i) Apical meristem : It is located near the tip of roots and stems and also in the tip of axillary buds and growing young leaves. It increases
the length of the stems and the roots.
(ii) Lateral meristem/Cambium : It is located below the bark. It helps in increasing the diameter of the stem
(iii) Intercalary meristem : It is located at the base of the leaves or internodes on twigs. It provides elongation and growth of the parts.
