Double circulation : There are two circulatory pathways : (i) pulmmonary and (ii) systemic

The pulmonary circulation begins by pumping of deoxygenated blood by right ventricle . It is carried to the lungs and then it returns to left atrium as oxygenated blood
(ii) The systemic circulation begins with pumping of oxygenated blood by the left ventricle to aorta . It is carried to all body tissues and deoxygenated blood from there is collected by the veins and then returned to the right auricle of heart.
(iii) Blood circulates twice, it is called double circulation
