(i) The gas that had leaked from the storage tank of the Union Carbide plant in the Bhopal gas tragedy was methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas.
(ii) The presence of excessive acids in the rain water is called as acid rain. It is formed by formation of acids in the atmosphere by dissolution of gases like `SO_2, NO_2, Cl_2,` etc., which are given out by vehicles and many industries into the moisture present in the air. These acids slowly become constituents of rain and fall on earth as rain or snow.
(iii) The ozone layer depletion causes ozone hole formation which increases the entry of harmful ultraviolet radiations on earth. These UV-radiations are dangerous to human.s health.
They cause sun burns, skin ageing leukaemia, cataract of eyes, skin cancer etc.
