Give reasons :
(a) Diffraction of sound waves is easier to observe than light waves.
(ii) We do not observe diffraction from wide slit illuminated with monochromatic light.

Text Solution

(a) In case of sound waves, the size of the obstacle / object / openings which cause diffraction is comparable with the wavelength of sound ( from few mm to few m ) . But in case of light, the wavelength is very small and the obstacles of such small obstacles are not easily available.
(b) When `agt gt x`, the bending of light becomes undetectable.
