Postulates of Bohr.s theory:
(a) An electron in an atom can revolve in circular orbits. It cannot emit radiant energy. For an electron of mass m and charge `e,(mv^(2))/(r)=((1)/(4piepsilon_(0)))(Ze^(2))/(r^(2))`
(b) An electron can revolve around the nucleus only in those orbits in which angular momentum is an integral multiple of reduced Planck.s constant.
(c ) An electron, when makes a transition from one permitted orbit to another, emits or absorbs energy which is equal to energy difference between initial and final states.
