Mass percentage of chlorine = 65.5
Mass percentage of metal M = 100 - 65.5 = 34.5

The ratio of atoms - M: Cl = 1:3
Empirical formula = `MCI_(3)`
Empirical formula mass = `M + 3Cl = 56 + 3x x 35.5 = 162.5`
Molecular mass = `2 xx` Vapour density = `2xx162.2=325.0`
`n=(325)/(162.5)=2`
Molecular formula = `2 xx` Empirical formula = `=2xxMCl_(3)=M_(2)Cl_(6)`
