A triglyceride is formed of one molecule of glycerol and three molecules of similar or different fatty acids. There are 3 (-OH) groups. One fatty acid is attached to each of three -OH groups of glycerol by ester bond formed between hydroxyl group of glycerol and carboxyl group of the fatty acid by dehydration synthesis.
