Find the condition if equations ax^2+bx+...

Find the condition if equations `ax^2+bx+c`=0 and `x^2+2x+3`=0 have a common root. `(a,b,cinR)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Roots of `x^2+2x+3`=0 are non real complex, which always occur in conjugate pairs, if `ax^2+bx+c`=0 have a root common with `x^2+2x+3`=0 therefore both the roots will be common
hence, a/1=b/2=c/3`implies`a:b:c=1:2:3
