Two roots of the equation,x^3+qx^2+11x-p...

Two roots of the equation,`x^3+qx^2+11x-p`=0 are 2 and 3, find (p-q)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let the other root .r.
So (2+3+r)=-q
2r+3r+6=11 and 6r = p
form (2) we get 5r = 5 `implies`r=1
So, 6=-q and p=6
So, the value of (p-q) = 12
