Find the equation of the right bisector ...

Find the equation of the right bisector of the line joining (1, 1) and (3, 5)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Mid point of the line segment
`implies ((1+3)/2,(1+5)/2) = (2/3)`
Slope of line joining AB = m(AB) = `(5-1)/(3-1) = 2`
Slope of right bisector = m = `((-1)/2)`
Equation of right bisector `implies y-3 = (-1)/2(x-2)`
`implies x + 2y - 8 = 0`
