In the circuit shown in fig. mark the correct options.

A

Potential drop across `R_1 is 3.2V`

B

Potential drop across `R_2 is 5.4V.`

C

Potential drop across `R_1 is 7.2V.`

D

Potential drop across `R_2 is 4.8V.`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C, D

Note that points a, h,g, and
f have the same potential
They are connected by
conducting wires without any circuit elemtents
between them. Similerly,
points b,c,d, and e have
the same potential. Hence,
the potential drop across
branch e and f, and a and
b is the same. The two resistrosw `(6Omega and 4 Omega in series)` are directly connected across
the terminals of 12 V battery.

`I = (V)/(R_(1) +R_(2)) =(12)/(10) =1.2A`
`:. V_(1) = (1.2)(6) = 7.2 V, V_(2) = (1.2)(4) = 4.8V`
