A metallic block carrying current I is ...

A metallic block carrying current `I` is subjected to a uniform magnetic induction `vec(B)` as shown in Figure . The moving charges experience a force ` vec(F)` given by ….. Which results in the lowering of the potential of the face ……. Assume the speed of the carries to be `v` .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`vecF=q(vecvxxvecB) implies qvB sin theta=F`
Since current is in positive x-direction, so electrons will be mov-
ing in negative x-direction. Due to this, force on electrons will
act towards the face ABCD. Hence this surface ABCD will have
lower potential.
