Name the common elements present in the anode mud in electrolytic refining of copper. Why are they so present ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The common elements present in the anode mud in electrolytic refining of copper are antimony selenium, etellurium, silver, gold and platinum. Since these elements are less reactive these are not affected by `CuSO_4-H_2SO_4` solution and hence settle down under anode as anode mud.
