Write 1st 5 order and define What is spectrochemical series?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Spectrochemical series: The arrangement of ligands in order of their increasing field strength, i.e., increasing crystal field splitting energy (CFSE) values is called spectrochemical series.
Difference between a weak field ligand and a strong field ligand. The ligands with small value of `(triangle_0)` are called weak field ligands whereas those with large values of `CFSE` are called strong field ligands.
