Why are `(o + p)` in ratious for the `SE` reaction (e.g. nitraction) of toluene and `PhCF, 32.3` and `0.14`, respectively ?

In toulene, `(-CH_(3))` group is the activating group (due to three `H.C`. Sturctures). Also, it is `sigma-` and `p` directing so `(( o + p))/(m)` ratio is very high.
In PhCF_(3), (-CF_(3))` is the decavating group to `-1` effect of three `F` atoms on the `alkyl C` atom. Thus, reactivity on all the ring decreases , but to lesser extent at `m-C`. Therefore, `(-CF_(3))` group is `m`-director. Consequently, (o + p)//m` ratio is very low.
