The lockgate of a canal is 4.8 m broad. The depth of water on one side of the lockgate is 4.5 m and on the other side is 3m. Calculate the total thrust on the lockgate. The density of water = 1000kg*m^(-3) .

The width of the lock-gate of a canal is 3m. On one side, the depth of water is 4.5m and on the other side the depth is 3m. Determine the resultant thrust exerted by the water on the lock-gate.

A square plate of side 10 cm is placed horizontally 1 m below the surface of water. The atmospheric pressure is 1.013xx10^5 N//M^2 . Calculate the total thrust on the plate. (Density of water d = 10^3kg//m^3, g = 9.8m//s^2 )

The length of a rectangle is (4x + 1)m and breadth is 3x m. Let's calculate the area of the rectangle.

There is a squared park and a rectangular park in the locality of Pradipbabu. The area of a rectangular park is 78 sq-m less than twice of the area of that square-shaped park whose length is 5 m more than the length of the side of that park and the breadth is 3 m less than the length of the side of that park. Calculate the length of side of the square-shaped park.

A tank having a base area of 20m^(2) and a height of 5 m is half-filled with water and the remaining half is filled with a liquid of density 0.86g*cm^(-3) . Calculate the total thrust exerted at the bottom of the tank. [ g=10m*s^(-2) ]

A tent is cylindrical to a height of 4.8 m .and conical above it. The radius of the base is 4.5 m. and total height of the tent is 10.8 m . Find the canvas required for the tent in square meters.

The daily requirements of water of three families in our three-storyed flat are 1200 litres, 1050 litres and 950 litres respectively. After fulfilling these requirements in order to put up a tank again and to deposit to store 25 % of the required water, only a land having the length of 2·5 m and breadth of 1 ·6 m has been procured. Calculate the depth of the tank in metre that should be made. If the breadth of the land would be more by 4 dcm, then calculate the depth of the tank to be made.

The ratio of the sides of a triangular park is 2:3:4. If the perimeter of the park be 216 m, then find the distance (perpendicular) of the greates side of the park from its opposite vertex.
