Why is it that rates of most of the reactions increase when the temperature of the reaction mixture is increased?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

With an increase in temperature, fraction of molecules which collide with energies greater than `E_a` increases. Thus, fraction of effective collisions increases which results in an increase in the reaction rate.
