What will happen if the elastic iron strip in the electric bell loses its flexibility?

When the circuit breaks and the electromagnet loses its magnetism, the strip, due to loss of flexibility, will not return to its normal position of contact with screw. Hence, the circuit will not be completed and the bell will not ring.
