What type of plants are toadstools and mushrooms ?

Toadstools and mushrooms are examples of fungi. According to old system of classification, fungi were included under kingdom Plantae and Kingdom of plants. But since they are not autotrophic, they cannot be included under plants. They are decomposers and hence have saprotrophic mode of nutrition.
