Take a pot filled with water. Strike it lightly on its rim. What do you see ? Why are waves formed on the water in the pot ?

When we gently strike the pot full of water, the waves are seen in the water. These are the vibrations that pass into the water. The vibrations caused due to striking caused due to striking causes waves.
