Discuss the differential activity of vascular cambium w.r.t secondary xylem and secondary pholem.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

During secondary growth, the cambium is generally more active in producing secondary xylem as compared to secondary pholem due to its differential activity on inner and outer sides. It is more active on inner side as compared to the outer side and its inner cells mature into secondary xylem and outer cells mature into secondary pholem.
