Why is enthalpy of atomisation is the lowest for Zn in 3d series of transition elements ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Enthalpy of atomisation dependss on number of unpaired electrons. In Zn there is no unpaired electron. As a result , metallic bonding is weak so that enthalpy of atomisation is low.
