Two radiations one having red colour `( lambda =7.5 xx10^(-5) cm)`and other with orange colour `( lambda = 6.2 xx 10^(-5) cm)`. Which will have higher energy ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

It can be solved as `E= (hc)/(lambda)`
higher is the wavelength of light lesser will be its energy and vice versa `E prop (1)/(lambda)`
Now, the radiation of organge colour has lesser wavelength as compared to red, therefore organge radiation will have higher energy.
