Let X denote the no. of hours you study during a randomly selected school day. The probability that X can take the values x, has the following form, where `lamda` is some unknown constant.

(a) Find the value of `lamda`
(b) What is the probability that you study at least two hours ? Exactly two hours? At most two hours?

The probability distribution of X is

(a) We known that `sum_(i=1)^(n)P_i=1`
therefore `0.2+lamda+2lamda+3lamda+2lamda=1`
`8lamda=0.8`
`lamda=0.1`
(b) P(you study at least two hours) `=P(Xgt=2)`
= P(X=2)+P(X=3)+P(X=4)
=`2lamda+3lamda+2lamda=7lamda=0.7`
P(you study exactly two hours) = P(X=2)
`=2lamda=0.2`
P(you study at most hours)`=P(Xlt=2)`
=P(X=0)+P(X=1)+P(X=2)
`=0.2+lamda+2lamda`
=0.2+0.3=0.5
