A variable force acts on a body of mass 2 kg intially at rest as shown in figure . Calculate the impulse of the force in first 2 seconds and speed of the body after 2 seconds .

Impulse of a force area under force time curve thus,
Area of ` Delta OAB = 1/2 xx 2 xx 10 = 10 N s`
Thus impulse equals 10 s
Now, impulse equal change in momentum
` rArr 10 = mv - 0 `
` V = 10/2 rArr 5 m//s`
