The time taken by a pendulum to complete...

The time taken by a pendulum to complete 25 vibrations is 88.0 s. Find the time period of the pendulum in second upto appropriate significant figures.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Time period of oscillation = `("Total time taken")/("Number of oscillations")=(88.0)/25s=3.52s`
Out of the two quantities given in the data, 25 is exact hence has infinite significant figures. Therefore the answer should be reported to three significant figures i.e. 3.52 seconds
