A thin metallic spherical shell carries a charge Q on it. A point charge `Q_(1)` is placed at the centre of the shell and another charge q is placed outside as shown in figure ahead. All the charges are positive . Discuss the various forces acting on `Q_(1)`.

Here the net force on `Q_(1)` will be zero because the net electric field inside a condcutro due to charges on it and outside is zero. The force applied .by q on `Q_(1)` will have the value `(Q_(1)q)/(4 pi epsilon_(0)R^(2))`
Towards left. Equal and opositve force will be applied by the charge Q on the shell to make net force on `Q_(3)` = 0 . shell will o this by rearranging its charge as shown below.
