Why does a balloon burst when we try to squeeze it?

When we try to squeeze a balloon, we actually try. To reduces the volume of the gas inside it. AS the volume of the gas decreases, so the pressure inside increases. As the balloon cannot withstand the added pressure therefore it bursts.
